More About "Marie":
Ezekiel had never gone more than a few miles away from home, until cataclysm arrived in the form of invaders from another planet. After losing everything, and following a path inspired by what appeared to be a vision from God, he's found himself in the California desert. Taking refuge in a long abandoned stranger's home - watching over a woman who doesn't know he exists.
A strange machine that appears to run purely off chemicals sits in a separate wooden structure on the property, inside of it is a woman who appears fast asleep. After inadvertently causing damage to the structure, she emerges, with no memory of the apocalypse that's ravaged the planet, and an augmented mechanical arm. Together the two of them overcome an impending alien abduction, and decide to ride out the apocalypse together in an uneasy alliance.
