This Banjo Version of ‘Enter Sandman’ Might Rock Harder Than Metallica’s Original

Banjo Guy Ollie Enter Sandman Metallica

A writer at DeathAndTaxes called this “the most hipster Metallica banjo cover ever,” and indeed the beard, lumberjacky threads, proficiency in A/V software, standup arcade game and, well, banjo do suggest some serious hipsterism is at work here.

But you know what? Some serious talent is at work here as well. And lest you think our suggestion that this might rock harder than Metallica’s original “Enter Sandman” is just hype, consider this: This is one guy. It’s the same guy, Banjo Guy Ollie, doing the picking, sometimes on multiple banjos, the percussion, and the mandolin parts. Metallica’s version — it’s like, you have to take all the rocking they’re doing and divide that by four. Whereas this guy, he’s multiplying the rocking, and then multiplying it again. He’s (rocking)4.

There is no singing. That’s a fair point.
