When you look back at the birth of Marvel Comics, that moment when Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were revolutionizing superhero comics, it’s interesting to note that they didn’t create all that many female characters. Those were different times, of course, but out of the gate the Marvel roster was a boys’ club with just a couple exceptions. Fortunately, there was a female in the first Marvel comic, Fantastic Four #1: Susan Storm, who would become Invisible Girl, and later Invisible Woman.
