Frequent Heavy Metal contributor Marco Turini is cooking up a new comic, and it looks great — even though he’s not telling us much about it. These preview images mostly show the heroine “vi0la” in the setting Turini has described as dystopian. The title of the series is 22. In this era or world, ladies wielding giant guns wear jetpacks and bulky helmets, and belts of old-school grenades. The fashion is largely based on black-and-white stripey pants, although sometimes there are no pants at all. And now you, reader, know exactly as much as we do about Marco Turini’s 22. He keeps releasing new teasers his social pages instagram.com/marcoturiniart and facebook.com/marcoturiniart, as well as the blog on his website marcoturiniart.com.
Turini’s Heavy Metal history includes art for the story “The Boss” in issue 295: The Music Special, and for the “Tornado of Souls” story in the Megadeth: Death By Design extravaganza. We also serialized his sci-fi saga E.V.A. (starting with issue 267), and he contributed the Frank Frazetta tribute cover and an interior story for issue 273.
