We’re in the thick of Hanukkah and and Christmas is less than a week away. With that in mind, we thought we’d take a look at some of the best holiday sweaters that are available to purchase from your hard rock and metal bands, because nothing says the holidays like an ugly sweater.
Foo Fighters can pretty much do no wrong. For example, their $30 holiday sweatshirt is inspired by Norwegian black metal band Emperor. Featuring a gingerbread man in corpsepaint, reindeer skulls, pentagrams and a Foo Fighters logo that looks much like the grim, frostbitten metal band’s, it shows Dave Grohl’s metal cred. Unfortunately, it was a limited edition shirt, and is sold out.
Slipknot have been through a lot in the last six years. They’ve lost two members, including bassist Paul Gray to an overdose, their lead singer Corey Taylor put out a handful of albums with his other project Stone Sour, and they put out the surprisingly strong .5: The Gray Chapter. They just wrapped a tour, have another in the works for 2015, and now you can buy their holiday sweater. It’s $60 and can be purchased here.
In addition to putting out one of the best albums of the year, according to many, Mastodon have also released a hell of a shirt. The sweater features a pair of reindeer sprinting towards a mask that looks like the guy on the cover of the album. Again, it’s a limited edition design that has also sold out.
Considering how crass Attila normally is, and that last year’s design featured a pair of reindeer having sex with their trademark phrase “suck my fuck,” the Georgia hard-partying band have released a relatively tasteful design this year featuring their logo. That shirt is available for $30 and can be picked up here.
