Just released — there’s a third installment in the Hero Complex Gallery’s “The Raid” print series. The madness began in 2016 with “The Raid,” by Josan Gonzalez and Laurie Greasley, a crazily complex scene of sci-fi worlds colliding. You had Robocop, Barbarella, Judge Dredd, Ripley and Deckard rubbing elbows (or at least shooting at each other) as Daft Punk deejayed the whole affair. Gonzalez and Greasley returned with “The Raid 2: Incident on Line 13,” which picked up where the first print left off, pulling more characters and props into another Where’s Waldo-esque scene of carnage. The two artists then did “Hanamura Showdown,” an Overwatch-themed print in a similar style. All these prints are at Hero Complex in various states of availability (some sold out).
Laurie Greasley goes it alone with the third installment of The Raid, called “The Raid 3: Scourge of the Machines.” This massive and violent robot party hosts many of your favorite droids, cyborgs and bots, plus stationary AI (yes, both HAL 9000 and WOPR are in attendance), the robot/clockwork owl from Clash of the Titans, and some humans for inclusivity’s sake.
