Hey Eddie fans, here’s the deal — Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast is back! That’s good news, because we left you hanging last time. We’ll run through the action here, but you’re far better off getting the trade paperback now available in the Heavy Metal Shop. Eddie, the grunting hero of the series, a character created decades ago by the metal band Iron Maiden, had clawed and hatcheted his way through some serious trouble in the first volume. Egyptian deities, Nazi zombies, a real Wicker Man — it wasn’t easy, but with the help of the The Clairvoyant, he managed to survive some very grim situations across time and space.
A showdown with The Beast seemed to be the final battle — but no, it wasn’t, not by a longshot. The Beast wasn’t the be-all and end-all we’d thought. Something called The Unmaker stepped in and all hell broke loose within the final pages of that first volume. The Clairvoyant’s down for the count, and all sorts of giant monsters, dragons and mega-slugs are about to make a hash of planet Earth and humanity. This would all seem to be above Eddie’s pay grade except… except… this purple-robed bloke calling himself The Enchanter has made the scene. Here endeth Volume 1 of Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast.
We return to Eddie’s saga in Volume 2 of Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast. It’s Eddie and his new best friend — ok, his only known friend — ok, a complete stranger — The Enchanter. Earth is in the process of being roasted and humanity’s chances aren’t looking too good.
Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast, Volume 2: Night City is currently available for pre-order from the Heavy Metal Shop. Cover A is by Akirant and features Eddie; Cover B is by Navigator Games and also features Eddie; and Cover C is by Navigator Games and shows us The Enchanter. The story is once again by Llexi Leon with a script by Ian Edginton and pencils by Kevin West.
Enough talk, as Eddie would agree — let’s see those covers and some pages!:
