Retroband action figures from the 1981 Heavy Metal movie (left) will be on sale at MondoCon in Austin; a new metallic version of the SAM Lord of Light print is available for pre-order and pickup.
MondoCon, a celebration of poster art, original art, toys and more, takes place this weekend, October 3-4 in Austin, TX — and Heavy Metal will be there.
The event will happen at the Marchesa Hall & Theater, where Heavy Metal will occupy booth B6 in Anthony Michael Hall.

Heavy Metal is offering a Mondocon Exclusive, a print of Jack Kirby and Barry Geller’s Lord of Light finished by Mark Englert in seven color metallic inks. This is a different version of the blacklight posters first offered at San Diego Comic Con. The metallic print we’re offering is “SAM” (pictured below) — which was the first of our blacklight prints to sell out.
The SAM print is 24″ x 36″ and we’ve only printed 100 of them. They’re priced at $100 and can be pre-ordered from the Heavy Metal store for pickup at MondoCon.

We will also have:
• Retroband’s 1981 Heavy Metal movie figures. Aaron Moreno of Retroband will be at Mondocon signing at his booth.

• 11 of the other Lord of Light blacklight pieces.
• Both regular and variant-cover copies of the current issue (#276) featuring Lord of Light on the cover.
• Shirts, hats, classic magazines and much, much more!
