Reger’s sophisticated surrealistic works explore the dark, entertaining crossroads between desire and the absurd. Known world wide as the creative mastermind behind Emily The Strange. In this series he both encorperates and eludes this dark lovely with stark works utilizing several different creative threads, from Hot rod pin striping (If it were applied to a suped up version of the Haunted Mansion hearse), Escher-esque layers of kittens, monsters and puppies & collage works that evoke a traditional botanical painters more interesting nightmares.
Dienzo is an artist whose collection of dark characters are meant to intrigue, entice and perhaps cause a bit of anxiety. While his experience in commercial art as an award-winning designer spans nearly 25 years, With a love of pop culture and things that “go bump in the night,” Dienzo has rendered his take on icons of horror for over a decade. His contribution to this exhibition marks a slight departure by softening the focus of his lens to original executions of more gothic beauty. Influenced by shows like Penny Dreadful and American Horror Story, this series also shines a light on makeup artist and style maven “Rose Shock”, providing the stunning inspiration for Dienzo to unleash his “Stranger Creatures.”
An accomplished designer, storyboard artist and comic book artist. He has worked in animation for feature films, TV and gaming. Including (but no even close to all) : With Bob’s Burgers, Despicable Me 2, Marvel 4D And numerous high profile Lego projects all under his illustrious belt. In his fine art, Frank brushes into life a swirling cavalcade of noir characters reminiscent of classic tex avery cartoons while simultaneously shining a black light on the darker themes that were always hinted at in their narrative. Sex, violence, and absurdity splayed out in their rawest and most fantastic forms.
