On March 28th, we shared a video of three young sisters from Monterrey, Mexico, playing a cover of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman,” and Heavy Metal readers shared that mess around. And around. And around. That clip of “Enter Sandman” didn’t just become the most popular post on our site; it also landed The Warning (that’s the name of their band) on virtually every other site on the whole internets. CNN, Inside Edition, Guitar World, Rolling Stone, Good Morning America, VH-1, Loudwire, Buzzfeed—they all covered The Warning in the ensuing weeks. (We’re not saying we were there first, but, since you brought it up—we were kinda there first.)
Oh, and the lead guitarist from a famous metal band let The Warning’s 12-year-old drummer know how he feels:
As for their two stated goals—they’re more than 2/3 of the way to raising the dough they need to get to Berklee, but have not, as far as we know, booked a spot on Ellen. But we’re pretty sure both dreams will come true.
You can visit The Warning on YouTube to hear more of them. “Enter Sandman” was the biggie, it was their home run—but it’s not the only cover that they successfully rock. This one’s their next-best, in our opinion, and as you may recall from the original Twisted Sister video, it’s the epitomé of a tween-rage anthem. Enjoy your weekend:
