Robert Rodriguez is a massive fan of the late fantasy artist Frank Frazetta—he’s been working on a remake of Frazetta’s 1983 film (made with Ralph Bakshi) Fire and Ice; he got Frazetta to do a poster for From Dusk ‘Til Dawn, and for the last couple years has brought Frazetta’s art to the hip masses at the South by Southwest festival held annually (and going on right now) in Austin, Texas. This year, the Frank Frazetta Museum is offering seven, perhaps even eight or more giclee prints of his photographs of Frazetta paintings. If you didn’t make it to Austin, it’s likely that these will still be available somewhere else—they’re printed in runs of 100-300, but only a portion of those (sometimes a small portion) will be on sale at SXSW.
Press releases list the first seven of the images below; the eighth (“Neanderthals”) is not listed as being on sale, but it’s clearly a Rodriguez-produced Frazetta print.
