Comics auteur Frank Miller was featured in WSJ Magazine’s “My Favorite Things”—and you just knew his trademark fedora would be one of his picks. We didn’t necessarily see the footwear choice coming:
The Chuck Taylor All Star Converses are my favorite tennis shoes to wear and draw. They were originally created for basketball players—I like them because I have long, skinny feet. And I go for that combination of red, black and white a lot.
And the musical selection, Bob Dylan’s Desire, seems laden with meaning as Miller describes it:
Bob Dylan’s album Desire is one of my favorites. I love the comeback, the way he returned to the music scene with Blood on the Tracks and Desire right on top of each other. It was a very exciting time for me.
Hmm. Frank Miller has returned for a third limited series of the Batman saga that was both a triumph (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, 1986) and a failure (Batman: The Dark Knight Strikes Again, 2001). Will The Dark Knight III: The Master Race, co-written with Brian Azzarello and due this fall, be Miller’s Blood on the Tracks? Just sayin’.
