Something’s up with artist Sam Hiti. Last week, he posted the following message to his website SamHiti.com:

Samuel Hiti was a self-taught artist and had his break in 2004 when his first graphic novel “Tiempos Finales” debuted at the Mocca arts festival. From that moment on, Sam spent his full time devoted to learning how to make his stories better.

Sam became ill in late 2013. A car accident in 2014 propelled his illness further into a downward spiral. Sadly, Sam was unable to recover.

Sam did not care about being remembered, all he wanted was to do good work. Sam leaves behind countless unfinished projects.

Comics Beat reports that he is not dead. But he most certainly is quitting comics. He’s selling all his books in bundles, for $20, calling it a “Good-bye Sale.”
