There’s something awesome happening at this very moment on the internet and the streets of cities all over the country. It’s called #WeWantWidow and it’s a grassroots movement from fans of the Black Widow character to let Marvel Entertainment know that they want more Black Widow stuff. More merch, more toys, and a Black Widow movie. They’re expressing themselves by sending #WeWantWidow tweets and Instagram pictures of themselves in their Black Widow costumes.
Look Marvel, don’t make us call you idiots. Ok, you’re kind of idiots if you don’t make a Black Widow movie. You have Scarlett Johansson, Esquire’s Sexiest Woman Alive (2013 and 2006) and Maxim’s Hot 100 #2 (2014) in the title role and obviously tons of support. Women will go to this movie, and so will men. Good lord, you people, Scarlett wants to make the movie, commit to it before she gets sick of asking. You got lucky when she took the role in the first place.
And even if Scarlett did get tired of asking, there would be no shortage of actresses there to step in—because everybody wants to be Black Widow. And in the cosplay world, just about everyone has been Black Widow. This Italian cosplay pro, Giorgia Cosplay (yes, her last name is Cosplay, what are the odds), is one of the best Black Widows we’ve ever seen (check out more of her work at Facebook, DeviantArt, and her official site):
