A lithum battery-powered version of the light cycle seen in Tron: Evolution is going on the block on May 2 through Sotheby’s RM Auctions. There was a big to-do when this thing, created by Parker Brothers Choppers, came out in 2011. It wasn’t the first light bike they made, but the lithium battery power source seemed to make it the most authentic—because, you know, it just doesn’t seem right to be filling up your virtual-reality vehicle with regular unleaded. Reports at the time put a $50,000 or $55,000 price tag on the supposedly street-legal bike; Sotheby’s estimates that the lightcycle, which has only been ridden a few times and is in “as-new” condition, will go for $25,000-$40,000. That’s a hell of a bargain, presuming you have even $25,000 to spend on something like a light cycle—and if that’s the case, you’re probably not really a bargain hunter.
