An Artist Dipped his Brush in Stout, Beer Portraits Were Born

Beer painting of Jason Momoa

Artist Kyle Bice started painting with beer because it was all he had to work with. “I began painting with beer nearly two years ago when I forgot to bring my paints with me to a local drink and draw,” he says. “I had a few brushes and paper with me at the time so I just dipped my brush in the stout I was drinking.”

He’s now turned this unusual approach into a side gig, painting portraits of craft-beer people for Beer Portraits. He also sells his works at his Etsy store.

I'm not sure who to thank but please send my gratitude along to whoever posted the article about me and my art. Heavy Metal has long been one of my favorite magazines.

    Cheers!
