WHAT'S
ON MY BRAIN: October 19, 2004
Hey Gang! I hope you're all doing great out there, it's been quite a
week around here, but I'm determined to get this week's "What's
on" off on time.
I think I mentioned before that Joe Pearson and I are producing an animated
"Highlander" film with Imagi here in the states, and Mad House
Animation in Japan--the great Kawajiri is directing. I just got word
from Joe the trailer we'll use to do foreign sales at this month AFM
convention just arrived, and we'll get our first look later today. Very
exciting! I'll keep you posted as it develops, and share any visuals
as soon as I can.
This week's photo section is pretty funny. My buddy Paul Jenkins (yes
it's THAT Paul "Comic book writer genius) Jenkins co-directed a
music video with artist Rob Prior a month or so ago, and I just heard
from Paul that it will start airing on "MTV" "MTV2"
and "FUSE" this week! Cool, because I haven't seen it yet,
and I get killed in it! The band is called "Scum of the Earth"
and the song is called "Get your Dead On." Look for it out
there, and if anyone sees it give me a shout. |
|

The first shot is of the outside of the location in the Valley where
they shot a scene inside a church set, and a bar set--these are some
of the bikes that were brought in for the bar set scene.
|
The next picture is of the bar set. During the course of the shooting
day, they were running behind in the church scene, and hadn't started
painting the bar set. Rob wanted to do the set painting himself but got
tied up finishing on the other set, so they asked me to paint it out.
I had a blast, basically chucking paint all over the place. |
 Here's
yours truly and co-director Rob Prior hamming it up after I finished painting
the set. It was great to watch Rob and Paul work together, they make a
really great team, and speaking of the devil--the forth photo is of me
and Paul.
|
John
Dolmayn, drummer for "System of a Down" laid down the drum
tracks for the song, and popped by the set to sit in on some of the
filming. John's the one with the hat, chatting with Rob and Paul.
|
This
image is me cleaning up some of the mess I made while splattering paint
all over the wall! I got pretty carried away with it, but had a blast,
got a few laughs from the original set decorator and think the set came
out great in the end. I think I still have paint suck to me somewhere
from the shoot.

|
 Ladies
and gentlemen, Lorenzo Sperlonga! He was talked into coming on set and
was filmed in the bar scene as well! I'm not 100% sure but I think it
was his acting debut! In the next shot, Lorenzo is posing with the character
Paul and Rob came up with to star in the video, "Shadow Walker!"
Cool outfit! Paul tells me he and Rob are developing it for a movie
they'd like to co-direct as well. Good luck guys! |
Here's me and my new best friend--a local gangster who wanted to kill
me because he got hit with a piece of ice a bunch of the crew and I were
chucking around the set. We came to an understanding about the whole situation,
but I don't plan on having him over for a cookout anytime soon. |

The final shot is of me getting ready to do my death scene, and co-director
Paul is giving me some pointers on what not to look like when I'm dying!
Hah, I've gotta give Rob a call and get a copy of the video--and the
last time I talked to Paul he was going to write up a "guest What's
On" section, and provide some more images from the shoot. Looking
forward to that. |
|
All righty then, I'm going to wrap up for this week but wanted to let
you know most of the regular updates will go up this week--and mention
I've added 21 new pieces of original art to that section of the site.
Some really cool Bisley's, Sgt. Rock, and TMNT pages. I'm going to addroughly
20 new piece each week for the next month or so, so keep checking back.
Till next time, you all take care!
