WHAT’S ON 7-11-08
Hey Gang,
Happy belated Fourth of July everyone here in the USA, and Happy Weekend to those hanging out elsewhere!
 Been super busy here in Hollywood getting prepped for work on the new film, there have been some behind the scene changes Studio wise, but the David Fincher, Blur Animation and Heavy Metal team-up will go into production on the film this summer. More details as they come. I’ll get into some San Diego next, here’s the “Exclusive San Diego Convention Poster” we’ll be giving away!
This thumbnail is just the rough comp - you’ll have to stop by the booth to see the finished one (it ‘s freakin’ killer)! Painted by the amazing Raymond Swanland, art directed by Tim Miller and the Blur team, we’ll be giving away 1000 of these at the booth, 250 a day Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday!
As for the line-up and other give-a-ways, I’ll give you the broad stroke this week, and offer up final signing times and tweaks over the next few weeks. Besides the regular staff, Me, Howie, and Pam;
*Simon Bisley will be back signing new versions of his “Art Of”, and “Bible” books, and also signing the “Show Exclusive Bodycount” collection with me! It was the last TMNT book I did, Heavy Metal licensed the rights from Mirage Studios, and we printed only 500 of them in Hardcover form that we’ll be selling at the show! Simon will be signing all four days of the show.
*Lorenzo Sperlonga will be back with us again this year, with his brand new book “Poison Apples” filled with all new paintings, as well as his other collections. Lorenzo will be signing all five days (including Wednesday night).
*Nathan Fox and the Imagi crew will be signing and giving away 3000 copies of a Heavy Metal Convention Exclusive special issue that features Nathan and Matt’s “Fluorescent Black” graphic novel, with an exclusive Convention alternate cover! Nathan and Matt will be signing for a couple hours each day, and I’ll give you the specifics on that shortly.
*Writers Michael Giordani and Josef Rother will be signing and giving away copies of their handy work in the Spring 2008 special issue, times and specific’s to be announced shortly.
*Artist Irving Bomb will be setting up for a couple hours each day signing and selling copies of his art book and DVD’s, times to be announced shortly.
*And a few other special guests we are waiting on confirmation on - but we will be posting times, more art, details, and specifics next week.
