WHAT'S
ON MY BRAIN: Saturday, September 17, 2005
I don't know about you guys, but I miss most movies at the theater and
end up watching them on DVD. I know, or at least I think I've spoken
about that here a bunch of times--or on the message boards when I used
to have time to get up there and chat with you all. I just watched "Hitch
Hikers Guide to the Galaxy" and found it kinda fun. I think Sam Rockwell
is a pretty good actor (one of his first movie speaking lines was in
TMNT #1 movie) and the rest of the cast was pretty strong. Neat effects,
but I'm glad I saw it on DVD instead of at the movies.
I also
saw "Kung Fu Hustle" recently, well a month or so back, and thought
that was genius. I'd put it on my recommend list to you all.
It is Saturday
night almost midnight right now, I spent a very productive day working
on the "Underwhere" script (A kids thing I created almost 20 years ago)
with my friend Robert Mandel. Have been revamping it with a great bunch
of talent besides Robert, like Paul Jenkins who I worked with originally
on it with, and my best pal Joe Pearson. What's to come of it? We will
see, but fun to be back working on it again.
For traveling
adventures, I'm pretty sure in an earlier note I told you I went to
the "Wizard Comic Convention" in Chicago, which was a hoot, but the
best part was I got to hang with the gang at Echo Gallery who put on
another Heavy Metal style show and party during the show. We'd planned
ahead to pick one of their AMAZING local artists to pick from the show
and put on the back cover of the magazine as the winner. Well we have
a winner, Ken Keirns! Congratulations! If you want to see more from
the event, go to the www.EchoGallery.org
and check out the photo section. |
