WHAT'S ON MY BRAIN - August 29, 2005

Hey Gang,

Long time no hear from me, sorry about that, been burning it on both ends since San Diego (and then some) as well as being on the road constantly has really messed up my already insane schedule. Hopefully it will all be worth it in the end.

What has been eating up allot of my time is several possible Heavy Metal Entertainment deals I hope I'll get to share some good news with you all soon. We're getting very close on an online game/animated movie deal for the Heavy Metal (Eastman/Bisley/Pearson) "Lost Angeles" project. If it is going to go, I should know in the next few weeks.

I'm also doing another, and hopefully a final pass, on the "Fistful of Blood" script, which could go as both a live action and animated Heavy Metal film. We're close on funding options there as well, but as we say here in Hollywood Land, "It will be funded and going once the check clears."

I'll keep you posted on both of those projects, as well as three other entertainment deals heating up as well.

Another cool creative project I've been spending allot of time on these days came out of left field. Back in the late 80's I created a kids concept called "Underwhere." I went on to create a finished story and graphic novel with my mate Paul Jenkins, and buddy Mark Martin. It was published in the early 90's, optioned by Sony Wonder for two years, then Columbia Tri Star for another two years but neither could get it off the ground. Since then it has been shown around here and there, but pretty much stayed dormant until a few months ago when someone I had shown it to many years ago called and had me pitch it to a funding company and a local CG Animation company--and they liked it--allot. Since then I've been working every spare moment on updating the story and designs with Paul Jenkins, Robert Mandell, and Joe Pearson. What a hoot, and who knows where it will go once we all bring it into the studio, but this time we'll have money behind it--which helps allot in this town. Will keep you posted on this one as well.

Lastly on the entertainment front, an update, the Imagi Studios new animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I mentioned the last time I did a post, has been picked up by Warner Bros. to distribute. Cool beans, and as far as I know everyone is committed to meet the March 2007 release date. As soon as they release the teaser I'll give you all a heads up so you can check it out.

For photos this time around I'm just going to chuck-up a bunch of great snaps from the 2005 San Diego Comic Con. I picked images from the quiet of the set up, to the madness of the show, to the artists/friends/and fans that made this year such a great time. I'll be posting more over the next few updates along with other cool tid bits.
