WHAT'S
ON MY BRAIN: November 22, 2004
HEY GANG
HAPPY TURKEY DAY!!!
I hope
all is well in your world, and that you'll all have a great holiday
week! It's been a tough few weeks around here for all the Heavy Metal
family and friends, add in A LOT of work for everyone on top of it and
think we're all ready to get a little "sideways" and relax
a bit. I hope you all get the chance to do just that.
I was thinking
about something "light" for this week's "What's On"
for the past few days, and remembered back when we had message boards
(the new one should be up soon) several fans asked if they could see
photos of my studio. I thought that was kinda cool because anytime I
met another artist, I always wanted to see their studio--catch the vibe
of the place where they create--see what kinds of "mojo's"
they choose to surround themselves with.
So, I got
the ol' disposable camera out, blasted off a roll and here you go. Funny
thing is, I had recently spent a week clearing out the place after working
and dumping stuff in here for a few years when I got a call from Simon
who was just finishing up the same thing! Weird--no prior conversation
and we ended up doing the same thing at the same time…
So, starting
with yours truly in my newest GQ (go away quickly) photo, the following
10 images are of where I pretty much spend ALL my time. I'm thinking
I need a few more toys and books--what do you think?
There
you have it, another behind the scenes look into my oh so private, private
life. Well, it would be a bit more private if I didn't post all the
silly ass stuff I do on a regular basis, in multipal sections of the
site…I'm thinking I might have issues.
Okay then,
being a holiday week and all, I'm going to slide out the door here quicker
than usual and carry on. Before I go, I want to mention I've put up
about 50 new pages of original art for sale--some pretty cool stuff
collectors of original art will want to check out. I also want to point
out there's some great new books out for sale, and just in time for
Christmas shopping! Besides the latest issue that features Aria Giovanni
on the cover, and "Requiem #3" on the inside, we've got the
new Chris Achilleos "Amazona" hardcover book, the third installment
of the "Anita Bomba" hardcover series, and the all new, five,
count them five--2005 Heavy Metal calendars. ALSO, we've still got a
few copies of the first printing of Simon Bisleys "Illustrations
from the Bible" masterpiece that would make the ultimate…um…stocking
stuffer.
I'm outta
here, hugs all around!
Best, Kevin
